Nicole Condon-Shih is an American interdisciplinary artist whose research-based practice intersects art, science and technology and examines the dichotomy between the microscopic versus the macroscopic in thinking about biological, societal, and cultural systems.
Her work has been shown internationally in Hong Kong at the Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism & Architecture, in Beijing, China at the B3 Biennale of the Moving Image, and in Venice, Italy in the recent Sim-biotic exhibition. Projects have been commissioned by Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and collected by Summa Health Systems in the United States.
She received her B.F.A. from Cornell University’s School of Architecture, Art, and Planning, M.S. from Syracuse University, and M.F.A. from Hunter College, City University of New York. Nicole is currently an Associate Professor and Division Chair of Foundation at the Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA). She previously served as the Dean of the School of Art at Pratt Munson in Utica, NY. Prior, she spent eight years living and working Beijing, China and held the Head of Studio position at the Central Academy of Fine Arts for the International Foundation Course. Her art practice continually informs her teaching, just as teaching is integral to her practice as an artist, researcher and academic leader.
